DFDS A/S has developed and underpinned its reputation as one of the biggest shipping companies in Northern Europe over the past 140 years. At present, the company has six passenger ships operating on four different routes in Northern Europe. DFDS Seaways’ two flagships, m.s. PEARL OF SCANDINAVIA and m.s. CROWN OF SCANDINAVIA, sails on the route between the Scandinavian capitals of Copenhagen and Oslo. The company’s other passenger ships operate on routes between Denmark and the UK (Esbjerg-Harwich), the Netherlands and the UK (Amsterdam-Newcastle) and Norway and the UK (Bergen-Haugesund-Stavanger-Newcastle).
DFDS Seaways offers travel with exciting activities for families, couples and friends. MiniCruises, city breaks, conference cruises and skiing trips are just some of the options they offered. One thing the passenger ships have in common is the high quality of their interior environments, service, entertainment and – not least – the cuisine. The range of services and facilities on offer varies, depending on the route and ship selected. High quality restaurants, wine bars, pool areas, pubs, nightclubs, shopping and Internet cafés are just a few examples for the passengers to experience onboard.
DFDS Seaways sets great focus on the food served aboard its ships. The company embraces modern food culture, variation and high quality. All the passenger ships offer a new buffet in line with modern Nordic and international food culture. Fresh fish and shellfish are always a part of the buffet. The company’s themed restaurants hold various food events over the year, taking their inspiration from different parts of the world. Furthermore, a number of Danish and Norwegian star chefs are visiting the ships on the Copenhagen-Oslo route.
