In 2000, Tina’s hard work was rewarded: she qualified as one of eight finalists in the prestigious Chef of the Year competition, making her the first woman to receive such an honor in 12 years.
Tina’s warm smile, outgoing personality and outstanding cooking skills have made her one of Scandinavia's most celebrated TV stars. Her 2001 television series “Mat med Tina Nordström” (Food with Tina Nordström) broke new ground for cooking shows in Sweden. More than 17% of the Swedish population watched the first season. The series, which took its culinary inspiration from all corners of the world, was an instant success and Tina was subsequently crowned Sweden’s Most Popular Female TV Host.
In 2002 she was also awarded the Scandinavian gastronomy-prize. Tina has written five cookbooks who all have been received very well by both media and the audience. They have also been translated into Danish, Finnish and Norwegian, and she has sold nearly one million copies.
