Already by arrival at Fretheim Hotel, you will feel that this is an unusual hotel. There is a proud history of 130 years which has been preserved and elegantly combined with modern architecture. The lobby area is inviting, with a grand view towards the fjord, and includes a lobby bar with a pleasant atmosphere, a restaurant, wine cellar, pub and a coffee shop. There are 121 rooms to choose from: standard rooms, suites, rooms with fjord view and balcony, beautiful historic rooms with antic furniture and an old storehouse with a cosy atmosphere and an outdoor hot tub.

Famous from the television program “New Scandinavian Cooking”, Fretheim Hotel preserve the food philosophy The Conscious Kitchen®. Through a close cooperation with the local producers, the hotel makes sure that the raw materials are of the best quality.  The refining is taking place at the hotel and the chef proudly offers a variety of smoked and cured fish, meats and sausages, amongst many other traditional and tasty dishes.

There are many exiting activities packages in the Flåm area: the famous Flåm Railway is the closest neighbour, you can cycle through amazing mountain landscape, hike down the dramatic Flåm Valley or kayak on the longest fjord in the world.
