Go fishing
Västergötland is an angler’s dream, and many enthusiasts are astonished by the fantastic opportunities the province provides for enjoying this much-loved sport. The province has both salt and freshwater fishing spots in abundance, with its lakes, rivers and seashores. These support a wide variety of fish species, and all you need for that angling adventure. With so many great angling spots, it’s no wonder that there are so many great places serving delicious fresh and smoked fish.
There is also a wealth of picturesque spots to stop and eat along the shores of Lake Vättern. The smell of smoked fish fills the air in the little fishing community of Spiken, near Läckö Castle, south of Vättern’s sister lake, Vänern.
Why not visit Falköping and taste its delicious cheese?
