Claus Meyer has published 14 cookbooks in Denmark and is among the leading food personalities in Scandinavia. He is also a true entrepreneur. He is a vinegar-maker, he owns an orchard with prunes, pears, and apples, he runs a cookery school, he is a partner in the award-winning micro-roaster ”Estate Coffee”, just to mention a few of his ventures.

In season 5 of New Scandinavian Cooking, Meyer is hosting a full season – 13 programs of 25 minutes. The production is the most extensive presentation of Danish culture, history, travel, and food, for an international audience, ever. He assembles the portable kitchen around Denmark as well as on Greenland – which has been part of Denmark since the 1700s.

World’s best restaurant – NomaClaus started Nordic gourmet restaurant Noma in Copenhagen with partner and head chef, Rene Redzepi. Only seven months after opening, Noma was awarded its first Michelin Guide star. In March 2007 the restaurant received its Michelin Guide star number 2. Claus today still co-owns the gourmet restaurant which both in 2010 and 2011 was voted world’s best restaurant.

Claus also acts as a culinary advisor, lecturer and assistant professor of Foodstuff Science at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen. In 2008 Meyer received the Media Chef of the Year prize at the prestigious Spanish Madrid Fusion Expo.
