The Total Hurtigruten Experience – Bergen to Kirkenes and back

The 11-Day Full Voyage, Bergen – Kirkenes – Bergen

The ship is calling on ports morning, noon and night.  Since you will need to sleep, we will here tell you what you will see during daytime, on the north- and southbound journey.

After having left Bergen one late evening, the next morning starts by sailing the narrow and steep Geiranger fjord during the summer season, and the rest of the year you will have plenty of time in the wonderfull city of Ålesund. Then Molde, the city of roses, surrounded by the Romsdals Alps.  You will get to feel a 1000 years of history in Trondheim, before sailing trought Stokksund, passing. Kjeungskjær lighthouse. The next morning the glacier Svartisen awaits you, before you call on Bodø, a great place if you are interested in aviation.

Further on you will meet the mighty Lofoten wall, a wall of spectacular mountains before the fishing villages Stamsund and Svolvær, the main ports of Lofoten. The next day you will sail trough fjords and in the afternoon you will call in Tromsø, the gateway to the arctic, or the Paris of the north.
Then it is time to visit the North Cape, and the small fishing village Honningsvåg.  Strange rockformations and birdcliffs you will find many of along the coast of Finnmark.  Then the turning point of the journey, Kirkenes.  Then awaits the fortress in Vardø, the small fishingvillage Berlevåg, with the famous choir, the Hammerfest and the Polarbear Society, before you can take a late night walk in Tromsø.

Harstad is the next mornings port of call before the special experience of sailing through Risøyrenna. Then Stokmarknes, were the sea captain Richard With founded the Hurtigruten. Here is also the museum of Hurtigruten.  Now you sailing though Raftsundet, the long sound surrounded by mountains going straight down into the sea, and here is the Trollfjord, where we make a de-tour, before you can set foot in Svolvær again.  The coast of Helgeland has many stories.  The Seven Sisters, a chain of mountains, followed by the Torghatten, the mountain with the big hole, are stories worth learning about. Then the smaller cities of Sandnessjøen and Brønnøysund, before Rørvik.

After a shorter stop in Trondheim it is time to see Kristiansund, and you will also set foot in the cities of Møre, Molde and Ålesund, before you arrive in Bergen the next day.the last night arrives. The Bergen.
